Welcome Freshman {5/52}

Welcome Freshman {5/52}

Today marks the first day of school for my bigger kids, but more importantly, the beginning of an era for my soon-to-be fourteen year old. He will stand where I stood twenty years ago – not at the same school, but at the same stage of his life – and it is exciting and scary … Continue reading

Hobbit Feet {4/52}

Hobbit Feet {4/52}

I could nibble on baby feet all day long. I was thinking to myself earlier today that if I had to list the things that always inspire me to take pictures, baby feet and clouds would be towards the top of that list. I guess I’m weird like that. Even in the womb, Ayden had … Continue reading

Pretty Light {3/52}

Pretty Light {3/52}

The only camera I used this week was my iPhone. I joked just a little while ago that my internal clock has somehow switched to “Old Lady”. Up at 5am and completely passed out by 9pm is how I’ve lived my life these last few weeks. I have been so very tired, but I did … Continue reading

Farewell {2/52}

Farewell {2/52}

Our time with Adam set on Thursday night. He left for Utah on Friday morning and since then the house has been a little more quiet – less kids hanging out in our bed and more off in the private haven of their bedrooms. There has also been substantially less Monopoly being played. I hate … Continue reading

Mornings {43/365}

Mornings {43/365}

Today was my last day home with the baby. As of tomorrow, I’ll officially be a working mom instead of a stay-at-home. It will be our mornings together that I miss the most. Her snuggling next to me for a few more minutes of sleep, kissing the corner of her mouth to wake her up, … Continue reading

Sun Laser {41/365}

Sun Laser {41/365}

I took a walk to the store this evening just at the beginning of the golden hour. When I walked out into the street, I was greeted by a gorgeous sunset. The smoke from our nearby forest fire has really made the sky hazy the last few weeks, but tonight was clear and the cloud … Continue reading

Hugs {37/365}

Hugs {37/365}

Our son, Adam, is visiting us from Utah for the next few weeks. This means about a million games of Monopoly and that I will probably have all the Minecraft metals and their symbols memorized by the time he leaves. Yes, this picture is blurry, but moments like this can’t be missed. We’re all glad … Continue reading

Sleep {36/365}

Sleeping by the light of his phone. Technically speaking, this is a day late, but I’m sure you won’t hold it against me.

Worn {31/365}

115 degrees outside, two job interviews, trying to get a one-year-old to keep a pair of high heels on long enough for me to get a picture, and sticky hands in my hair. That was today.

Candlelight {30/365}

The teenager in me will always want to read by candlelight. My aging eyes say otherwise. Plus, it just makes me fall asleep. It used to be that I had insomnia, so I would read because I couldn’t sleep. Now, whenever I open a book, I’m sleepy within a few pages. Reading is my Ambien.
